LGBTQ individuals often face the decision of whether to skip prom or attend with a partner of the opposite sex due to social pressures. Prom, a rite of passage par excellence, can become a challenging space for those whose identities fall outside heteronormative expectations. In fact, many of the models in our photos regretted not bringing a “real” date or skipping prom altogether.
