Day With Dex – Dallas Steele and Dex Devall
The sun was shining at the top of the sky. Mr. Steele looked at his wristwatch. It was almost the end of his shift as a volunteer lifeguard at the posh seaside resort. A cute, self-centered little bitch in shorts walked by. Mr. Steele pulled down his Ray-Bans to cover his eyes and tried not to look. The young man saw the look and was rude as he passed. Mr. Steele sighed.
He saw, in the blink of an eye, what appeared to be a choppy ripple of water, which was very deep and cobalt blue. Mr. Steele grabbed a pair of binoculars to survey the area. He was shocked by what he saw: a young man who had passed the orange warning buoys.
Mr. Steele jumped out of the lifeguard’s chair and dove straight into the water. A former Marine, Mr. Steele was as active and vibrant as ever. He was a muscular man who could still do strenuous exercise as well as when he was on duty. Mr. Steele reached over to the little kid and grabbed him by the back of the neck. He pulled the little kid just in time for the powerful current.
