The Bear and the Bait – Andy Adler, Daniel Edwards
Andy Adler and Lucy Lotus are strolling through Miami when they spot Daniel Edwards, a cute, chubby Puerto Rican bear walking down the sidewalk in a green shirt and black sweatpants. Lucy quickly sizes him up and leans out the window with a warm smile. “Hey, need a ride?” Daniel looks at her, looking skeptical. “I’m fine, I’m just going to grab something to eat.” Lucy smiles. “How about we make your day more interesting? We’ll pay you for your time—real money.” Daniel pauses, curious. “What’s the deal?” “Get in and we’ll explain,” Lucy replies, leaving the details vague.
Daniel hesitates, but climbs into the van, the promise of quick cash too tempting to ignore. Once inside, Lucy tells him the deal—Andy is the one he needs to spend time with to make money. Daniel laughs nervously. “Not my cup of tea,” he says, shaking his head. Lucy ups the offer, doubling the price. The price is too good to pass up. With some persuasion, Daniel agrees, though still hesitantly. Andy starts, and Daniel’s nerves slowly dissolve as the moment heats up. Then Daniel pockets the money, stepping out of the van with a wry smile. “That was… unexpected,” he says, heading back down the street.
