Pitch A Tent – Ace Banner, Tyler Saint and Zack Dean

I found young Scout Zack sitting with Scoutmaster Saint in the boy’s tent. Once again, the young man was the last to pitch his tent and, once again, he needed the help of another Scout Leader. It’s hard not to be disappointed when a Scout turns out to be so helpless – especially one you defended and, as it happens, someone you also have a bit of history with…

I will confess; it was a little difficult to see him sitting there with the Scoutmaster Saint who, to be honest, looks a little despicable. He’s a player and I wouldn’t trust him to the extent that I could play him. So I informed them that the rest of the guys were heading to the shore. I’m not sure I expected them to get up immediately, but they gave no indication that they intended to come, which I found quite irritating.

But there wasn’t much more I could have said. I’m not going to harm a fellow Scoutmaster by telling him to move his lazy ass immediately, so I told them to follow us there as soon as they could and walked away like an idiot. Of course, the further I walked away from the tent, the angrier I became. I guess I felt like Scout Zack and I had something going on, you know, and yeah, it was unique and all, but I just didn’t like the idea of Scoutmaster Saint getting his claws into the kid.

Before I could get my thoughts in order, I found myself creeping silently through the forest and back to the tent. Predictably, the two were still sitting there, making no attempt to compose themselves. I almost marched over there to tell them to move, but I found myself hiding behind a tree and just watching.
