De-objectifying sex: To fully enjoy partnered sex of any kind, we must stay connected to the realm of possibility. It is a practice that we must cultivate in order to begin each day with the determination to “start over”. For many gay people this can be difficult, having gone through all sorts of individual and collective trauma. We may not know how to contact the possibility.
It’s a double path. First, we must recognize what stands in our way. It’s the shit we tell ourselves on the inside and how we project it onto others. If we don’t recognize it, it continues to surface in our actions and reactions, restricting our ability to enjoy life and pleasure.
So, we should be inspired by something that is full of wonder and awe. We must daily touch this place within ourselves to continue opening even in the face of our deepest formative wounds. Make it a daily practice to see, hear, or be in touch with something that inspires you.
